Simon was born and raised in Suwon, South Korea. At age 13, he moved to Auckland, New Zealand, where he later graduated from high school. After high school, Simon spent six months studying Mandarin Chinese in Beijing before moving to the United States to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned his degree in Marketing. He also served in the military as part of the Korean Augmentation Troops to the United States Army. He later moved to Portland, Oregon, to attend Lewis & Clark Law School. During law school, Simon gained early litigation experience in criminal and juvenile matters through the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, Washington County District Attorney’s Office, and National Crime Victim Law Institute.

After law school, Simon began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in Lane County, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases in both circuit and juvenile courts. He continued his public service as an Assistant Attorney General with the Oregon Department of Justice before bringing his extensive litigation experience to private practice. Simon now focuses his practice on family law, prosecution, probate, and estate planning.

Outside the office, Simon enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys. You’ll often find him on the golf course with his family, perfecting a new barbecue recipe in the backyard, or exploring Oregon’s outdoors with his dog.
