Erik grew up in Lane County and attended high school in Eugene. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1991 and Willamette University College of Law in Salem in 1994. For his first year of practice, he was the judicial clerk for the Honorable Gregory G. Foote in Lane County Circuit Court. Erik’s desire to be a litigator and advocate in the courtroom was cemented during his time in that position. He was hired by the Lane County District Attorney in 1995.

Erik joined Leahy Cox after retiring from a three-decade career as a Major Crimes prosecutor working on behalf of four elected District Attorneys. His prosecution and litigation experience predominantly involved criminal homicides, vehicular homicides, sexual assault, and child abuse. Erik has helped thousands of Lane County crime victims pursue justice for crimes committed against them and their families.

Erik now continues his legal career in personal injury and family law. He enjoys helping victims of vehicle crashes recover civilly for their injuries and losses and feels passionate about making sure parties in family law cases are treated fairly in the judicial system while navigating the dissolution of their relationships and forward planning of custody and property considerations. Erik is an avid salmon fisherman and enjoys spending time with his family, particularly exploring the beautiful outdoors in Oregon.
